In order that analytical results can be interpreted correctly it is important to ensure that photographs are taken of the waste.
Please take samples of the following:
1.The load of waste as soon as it is deposited in the Quarantine Bay. If the waste is particularly variable in appearance photographs should be taken from different directions
2.The sample as placed in the container before the lid is secured.
Where the photographs are taken with an independent camera the files must be transferred from the camera to the tablet or computer running EDGE. These should be placed in an appropriately organised way in a folders in the My EQuIS folder under My Documents. Once there they can be loaded to EDGE. Please ensure that photographs are named using the following schema:
[sample code]_[number as 1 onwards as required for the number of photographs taken]
An example might be:
BTNSS15/03/17/1_1 for the first photograph of sample BTNSS15/03/17/1
BTNSS15/03/17/1_2 for the second photograph of sample BTNSS15/03/17/1
etc.
Please take care to ensure that the codes are carefully entered to avoid sample confusion.
To enter the information required about the photograph and attach to the EDGE file, please follow the instructions in Section 'Taking and Entering Photographs' below.
